Privacy Policy

Rove is built around a local-first approach. The app does not collect, upload, or sell your personal data, and it does not track you.
Data we do not collect
Rove does not collect personal information, usage data, diagnostics, or image content. The app contains no advertising, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking technologies.
Images and file processing
Viewing images, generating thumbnails, reading metadata, rotating, cropping, and exporting all happen locally on your Mac. Rove does not send images or image metadata to a server.
Folder access
To browse images continuously in a folder, Rove needs access that you explicitly grant through the macOS system picker. The permission is stored locally as a security-scoped bookmark. You can review or revoke it at any time in Rove settings. Rove does not scan unauthorized locations.
Data stored on your device
Rove stores app preferences, recent-item history, folder authorization bookmarks, and a thumbnail cache used to speed up browsing. This information does not leave your device and can be removed through app settings or by uninstalling the app.
System APIs
Rove uses file timestamps to display and sort images, system boot time for performance timing, and user defaults to save your preferences. These uses are declared in the app’s Apple privacy manifest.
This website
This is a static website. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services, and collects no information through forms. Email links open in the mail app you choose.
